HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A suspect has been arrested for the 2012 murder of 37-year-old Marcus Garner.

Police arrested the suspect, Eric Johnson, 33, Thursday afternoon. They had been looking for him throughout the day and detectives searched several Harrisburg apartments before finding him in an Allison Hill apartment.

He climbed out a window to elude police. He was apprehended after a short chase and charged with criminal homicide, tampering with evidence and carrying a firearm without a license.

Garner's was missing for two weeks before his body was found in a vacant garage on the 600 block of North 18th Street on December 5. Police say Garner had a lengthy criminal record that involved drugs and guns. He served time in federal prison on related charges and took a lesser sentence in exchange for testifying against drug dealers.
