Firefighter released from hospital after Dillsburg fire
DILLSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
The firefighter injured in Thursday's fire and explosion at RL Livingston Excavating in Dillsburg has been released from the hospital.
Bill Tuner, public information officer for Carroll Township, said the firefighter was injured a result of a wall collapse, but thankfully was wearing protective gear.
The fire marshal has not yet released a cause of the fire. On Thursday, officials say there was at least one explosion and a partial roof collapse at the business on Blair Mountain Road in Carroll Township. The fire was called in around 4 p.m.
Some nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution, but the fire did not spread.
A nearby business, McNew's Automotive, told abc27 News that the explosion shook their windows.
Fire departments from several counties were dispatched to the scene. Officials say this is because there are no fire hydrants in the area.
