MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Cumberland County Coroner has been unable to determine why a Mechanicsburg High School student died unexpectedly this week.

Cumberland County Coroner Matthew Stoner said Friday that the autopsy did not shed any light on what caused the death of James Wilson, 17. He experienced a medical emergency in the high school band room on Tuesday and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to his obituary, Wilson had been actively involved in the school's music program, according to his obituary. He played trombone for the band, orchestra, marching band, and jazz band and he hoped to pursue a career in music.

The viewing for Wilson will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Malpezzi Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.
