Danville, VA - Danville Police are still investigating an apparent homicide that took place Saturday Night.
Police say a man was found lying unresponsive in a driveway in the 600 block of Holland Road just before 7 p.m. He was taken to Danville Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation is still ongoing and police are not releasing the victims' identity.
The woman called 911 last night after she found the victim lying in the driveway with blood around him.
According to police, the victim had injuries consistent with gun shot wounds.
Neighbors said the victim appeared to be in his late 20s, although officials have not confirmed that.
Neighbors also said there was always a lot of foot traffic in and out of the home where the body was located.
One woman said she still feels safe in that area, although last night had her a little startled.
"It definitely made me a little nervous especially being so close by, we double checked his doors last night to make sure he was secured in his house, just to be sure, but it's a little scary anytime something like this occurs this close to your home," Nancy Hamlett said.
If you have any information about this case, you're asked to call Danville Crimstoppers at 434-799-0000.
