WellSpan Health will be partnering with the City of York in an effort to enhance public safety.
Mayor C. Kim Bracey and City Police Chief Wesley Kahley will announce the creation of the WellSpan Police Training Center on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the York City Police Department.
According to the mayor, the center will enhance the skills and competencies of police officers, improve evidence storage for investigations and provide a space for officers to train. It will be located on the fourth floor of the York City Police Station.
WellSpan is donating $600,000 for this project.
The City of York has collaborated with WellSpan previously, including equipment purchases and police services enhancement in the city's South George Street neighborhood.
