Water shut off in Dover, to be followed by boil water advisory

Posted: Updated:
DOVER, Pa. (WHTM) -

In order to repair a water main break, authorities had to shut off water in a specified area of Dover in York County.

The affected streets—Pine Road, Park Street, Prospect Avenue, Grandview Avenue, Sherwood Lane, High Street, Royal Avenue, as well as residents and businesses in the 2800 and 2900 blocks of Carlisle Road—lost water between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 4.

Water should be restored within 24 to 48 hours for most homes in the area.

Homes on Pine Road may also expect to be without gas service for that period of time as well.

Once water has been returned to those places, a boil water advisory will be in effect until further notice.

Details regarding the water advisory are posted on Dover Township's website: www.dovertownship.org.
