SHREWSBURY, Pa. (WHTM) -

A homeless man was jailed in the York County Prison Tuesday night after he yelled profanities and threatened to shoot people outside a store in Shrewsbury, according to police.

Southern Regional police said they charged 53-year-old Gary Thomas Heller with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct after he admitted to yelling at people and at passing cars.

Heller told officers he was walking from Baltimore to Schwenksville, Pa. Witnesses reported he had been walking in circles from South Main Street and Old Farm Lane to a Goodwill store, to behind a Rutters store, and then to the CVS pharmacy in the 600 block of South Main, police said.

One witness reported that they were outside the CVS Pharmacy and witnessed Heller yelling he had a gun and was going to shoot people, which caused them to contact 911, police said.

Heller was being held in the York County Prison on $15,000 bail.
