Carlisle man arrested for swim club burglary

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 22-year-old man was arrested for breaking into the Carlisle Swim Club when responding troopers found him inside a locker room with the screens he had cut to make his entry, according to state police in Cumberland County.

Jeramiah W. Shaffer, of Carlisle, jumped the fence Tuesday morning and broke several windows around the food court in the club at 1286 South Pitt Street in South Middleton Township, police said.

Shaffer also damaged several wooden slat in his attempt to get inside the club, police said.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and possessing instruments of crime.
