Even though the midstate isn't supposed to get hit too hard with snow, some flight delays and cancellations are expected because of snow in other parts of the country, especially in the northeast where some places could get up to two feet of snow.
Scott Miller, the spokesman for Harrisburg International Airport, has some advice.
"Make sure you sign up with the airlines to get your updates via your smart phone, email, telephone, things like that...your flight status updates," he said.
Miller said this especially applies to people flying to the northeast. Boston could get up to a couple feet of snow. Miller said most of the airlines will give you the ability to alter your trip and reservations without charge.
"Plan ahead," he said. "That's what it's about. Plan ahead. Know the flight status before coming to the airport."
Meanwhile on the rails, starting Friday, Amtrak is reducing service on its Acela Express and northeast regional routes between New York and Boston.
