Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson and York Mayor Kim Bracey share the distinction of being the first African-Americans to be elected to lead their cities.
Thompson says she is still humbled by being elected by the people and her focus is to continue to lead Harrisburg out of it's current financial crisis.
Bracey says she never imagined being mayor when she was growing up, but she continues to focus on moving York forward.
Both Thompson and Bracey know politics can be tough, but they knew that going in. Neither say they are concerned about being under the microscope for being the first African-American mayor in their respective cities.
Thompson says her focus is serving the people of Harrisburg and Bracey says York residents are more concerned about her getting the job done than the historical significance of her election.
Thompson and Bracey have announced they plan to seek reelection.
