HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Bill Tully, a former assistant district attorney, announced he is running for Dauphin County judge.

Tully made the announcement over the weekend. He is a graduate of Notre Dame and Dickinson School of Law. He was appointed Deputy District Attorney for Dauphin County in 1983 and became First Assistant District Attorney in 1992. He now works in private practice.

If elected, Tully would fill the seat being vacated by Judge Lawrence Clarke, who will reach retirement age this year.

Assistant District Attorney Fran Chardo has already announced his candidacy as well.

The primary election is May 21.
