A Lancaster woman was charged with endangering her three-year-old son after the boy was seen pumping gas into a car.
Manheim Township police said they filed a criminal complaint against 46-year-old Theresa A. Moran Camara for the incident January 19 at the Giant To-Go in the 2300 block of Oregon Pike.
Police said the child had removed the nozzle from the vehicle without releasing the handle and sprayed fuel onto himself.
Surveillance video at the Giant To-Go supported the story.
Camara left the gas station before officers arrived, but witnesses were able to provide a license plate, police said.
Authorities reported that Camara admitted to police that she had allowed her son to help her in pumping gas. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
