Full Court Press District Tournaments tipped off Monday night across the area.
In the Seminole District, the top-seeded Heritage Pioneers faced off against 4 seed Amherst County. The final was Heritage 69, Amherst County 45. Game two saw regular season co-champ E.C. Glass, the 2 seed, battle number 3 Jefferson Forest. Final score: E.C. Glass 69, Jefferson Forest 44. Glass plays Heritage Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Glass.
Division 3 boys, Rustburg beat Brookville 51-34. The Red Devils will host Liberty Wednesday night.
Seminole Division 4 girls action at Heritage, 2 seed Jefferson Forest took on 3 seed Amherst County. Jefferson Forest wins, 52-44.
In game one, regular season champ Heritage rolled over Glass 73-18. JF and Heritage will play Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Glass.
And Seminole girls, Division 3, Liberty beat Rustburg 44-31.
The Dogwood District Boys Tournament also began Monday night with three quarterfinal games. The 5 seed William Campbell beat number 4 Appomattox 64-57, while 2 seed Altavista rolled over number 7 Nelson County 65-31.
Also Gretna got by Chatham, 53-47. The Hawks play at Altavista Wednesday night in the semifinals.
Buckingham County wins its James River Tourney opener 86-46.
