LEWISBERRY, Pa. (WHTM) -
A four-vehicle crash late Tuesday morning closed a one-mile section of Interstate 83 northbound in York County for about 45 minutes.
State Police Trooper Robert Hicks said PennDOT had the right lane of I-83 North closed for maintenance near mile marker 34 in Newberrytown, and the driver of a Toyota Sedan did not notice traffic had stopped in the left lane.
The driver of the Toyota rear-ended a Ford F150. The impact pushed the pickup truck and another Toyota sedan into a Fed Ex tractor-trailer, Hicks said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The
drivers of the other vehicles suffered non-life threatening injuries
and were taken to a hospital for observation, police said.
The tractor-trailer had minor damage while the other vehicles had heavy damage.
I-83 northbound was shut down between exits 33 and 34 at around 11 a.m. and reopened before noon.
