Danville Man Heading to Nicaragua for Survival Race

Posted:

Danville, VA - A Danville man is prepared to do one of the toughest challenges in the world. Dave Gluhareff is headed to Nicaragua on Saturday to be part of the Survival Race.

Only 50 people in the world were invited to participate in the race that's just less than 50 miles long.

It has obstacles and Dave will have to run, swim, jump and climb. In fact, he won't even know exactly what he has to endure until he gets there.

"The toughest aspect of this is that it is all a mystery right now. Nobody knows what we are actually going to do other than you have 20 hours to complete it," said Gluhareff.

Gluhareff has trained for three months for the race, and he says he feels like he is ready.
