HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police have a suspect in custody following Wednesday night's abduction incident at HACC's main campus.
Authorities say they used a cell phone signal to locate the alleged abductor, 33-year-old Julian Amway, under the I-83 bridge in Shipoke. The victim was with him, and officers described her as being "slightly injured" and "frantic" when they arrived.
Earlier in the evening police responded to a report that a man kidnapped his girlfriend from a classroom at what appeared to be gunpoint. It has not been confirmed that he actually was armed.
The campus saw heavy police activity while officers investigated the situation.
Officers from Harrisburg and Swatara Township left campus in order to search for the man and woman in areas around the city and in Dauphin County.
Police say that the motive in this incident was jealousy.
Court records indicate Amway has a long criminal history, including multiple felony convictions for unlawful use of a computer. He is also currently facing unrelated charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property and drug possession.
