Boil water advisory lifted for Boiling Springs

Posted: Updated:
BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. (WHTM) -

The South Middleton Township Water Authority has notified customers that a boil water advisory issued earlier this week has been canceled.

The Authority announced Thursday that repairs to a broken water main have been completed, and bacteriological samples indicate that boiling is no longer necessary.

The advisory was issued early Tuesday after a water main break in Boiling Springs. The break caused a sinkhole in the 200 block of Walnut Street in South Middleton Township.

The entire village of Boiling Springs was without water when the break occurred.

The boil water advisory affected all residents of Boiling Springs and west toward the Mount Holly Springs line.
