Nelson Co. Introduces Mark Poston

Lovingston - New Nelson County football coach Mark Poston says Governors football is going to be a "different animal."

Athletic Director Bill League introduced Poston, who comes to Nelson after serving as head coach at Eastern Montgomery the past seven seasons. He guided the Mustangs to the playoffs four of the last five seasons, including the state championship game in 2010. The big change Poston brings is game tempo. He likes his team to run a play every nine seconds, and when things are going well, every six seconds to keep the defense off guard.

Mark Poston, NELSON CO. FOOTBALL COACH, said "We're going to try and play as fast as we possibly can. We want to run a ton of plays in the game and we want to make the defense truly defend sideline to sideline. We really want to make them play five quarters in a four quarter game. And we've been able to do that for quite a while now so I think we're going to be able to do it here, too."

Poston says a priority is getting confidence back in the players and for them to take playing football for Nelson County to heart.

Mark Poston said "I know we're going to outwork, we're going to try to outwork as many people as we can. And we will get this turned around."
