The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata is providing free tax preparation for local families in need.
The fifth annual Money In Your Pocket VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) campaign provides free tax preparation for residents who are 59-year-old or younger and have an income less than $51,000. IRS-certified volunteers will be at operating sites in Lewistown and Mifflintown to complete tax returns and help find tax credits.

Those who prefer to file taxes online can visit www.myfreetaxes.com/mifjuniata. This online service is available for anyone who earned less than $57,000 in 2012.
