UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WHTM) -
Penn State students broke an all-time fundraising record at this year's THON dance event.
The weekend-long dance marathon at the Bryce Jordan Center brought in more than $12 million dollars for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. The fund helps children and their families battling cancer.
When added to money raised throughout THON's 41-year history, the total amount has now topped $100 million dollars.
Head football coach Bill O'Brien spoke to the dancers Sunday afternoon, calling Penn State "the best university in the world."
