A construction project to repair and improve six bridges on Route 322 in Mifflin County will resume March 1, and drivers can expect new traffic patterns and lane restrictions in the work zone the following week.
PennDOT spokeswoman Marla Fannin said Route 322 westbound drivers on March 7 will begin using a crossover near the Burnham exit, and travel in a single lane into the 322 eastbound passing lane.
Traffic will be returned to the westbound lanes near the Belleville/Reedsville interchange.
Eastbound traffic will move through the work zone in the eastbound, right travel lane.
Fannin said the setup allows for one lane of eastbound traffic and one lane of westbound traffic between Burnham and Reedsville, a traffic pattern that will be in effect through late August.
The work is part of a multi-year, $11.8 million bridge rehabilitation project on Route 322 from Reedsville to Burnham.
Work is scheduled through the 2014 construction season and includes bridge repair, painting, drainage and paving.
