A Harrisburg man told police he was shot in the buttocks early Friday when he resisted the robber who demanded his valuables.
The 29-year-old Allison Hill man said he was walking to visit his girlfriend in the Uptown area when he was confronted by the robber at N. 5th and Woodbine streets at around 1:20 a.m., Harrisburg police said.
The robber got away with the victim's cigarettes and a small amount of cash.
Police said the victim had a friend drive him to Harrisburg Hospital, where the friend handed off the injured man to a member of a West Shore ambulance crew who was dropping off a patient.
The victim, who was not identified, was later transferred to Penn State Hershey Medical Center and admitted for treatment.
