Harrisburg police investigate bank robbery

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating a bank robbery in Harrisburg.

The masked robber went into the Metro Bank at 101 N. 2nd Street on Sunday morning and demanded that tellers place money into his white plastic bag, police said.

The tellers gave him a small amount of cash and the robber went out the Walnut Street side door where he entered and then ran east on Walnut Street, police said.

The robbery occurred at around 11:10 a.m. No one was harmed and no weapon was displayed, police said.

The robber was of unknown race, thin and short, about 5'5" tall, and wearing a black mask, gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt and light colored pants.

The bank was closed while authorities conducted the investigation. The ATM was still running.
