Authorities enforce new traffic pattern in Lower Paxton

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are reporting a new traffic pattern in Lower Paxton Township. Drivers may no longer turn left from Colonial Road onto Elmerton Avenue.

Following a traffic and engineering study, authorities have concluded that Colonial Road and Elmerton Avenue create a "hazardous intersection."

Officers said that this study was conducted after police responded to numerous accidents at that intersection near Route 22/Jonestown Road.

Authorities suggest using Hollywood Road or Jackson Street, both of which run parallel to Colonial Road.
