A tractor-trailer became stuck under a Norfolk Southern railroad overpass in Manchester Township on Monday, causing a portion of Woodland View Drive to shut down for several hours until the rig was removed.
Northern York County Regional police said the driver, 30-year-old Nykil Rashad of Jonesboro, Georgia, did not realize his
truck would not fit until the trailer collided with the bridge.
The clearance under the overpass is posted at 11 feet, 0 inches. Police said the trailer had a height of 13 feet, 6 inches before the crash.
Rashad was not injured, and the bridge was not damaged.
The truck was owned by Interstate Distributor Company of Tacoma, Washington and was enroute to a business in a nearby industrial park, police said.
