Derry Township officials are asking the community for help to tackle upcoming school budget challenges.
The superintendent held a town hall meeting Tuesday night at Hershey Middle School.
He said the high price of teacher retirements over the next six years will cost the district an extra $5 million.
School officials are looking for input from taxpayers on where to cut.
"This is the most important thing...we want transparency," said Anne Reeves of Derry Township. "During tough budget times the last thing we want is to feel like you're hiding something."
District officials said they're hoping they don't have to raise taxes, but that option is not off the table.
The budget is due in June.
