Boil water advisory lifted for Cameron St. main break

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The boil advisory issued to residents affected by the Cameron Street water main break has been lifted.

According to the Department of Public Works, the advisory was lifted on Wednesday.

Advisories are in the process of being handed out to the nearly 3,000 Harrisburg residents affected by the incident.

South Cameron Street reopened earlier in the week, following the break on Saturday night.

Residents of several blocks along South Cameron Street were without water until around 11 a.m. Sunday. People living in the Hall Manor housing development, as well as those living in several sections of Allison Hill, told abc27 they also experienced disruptions.

On Tuesday night, a break occurred on the 600 block of North Cameron Street, causing water to flood the pavement. In that case, city engineers traced the issue to an eight-inch pipe that froze during the evening rush.
