COLUMBIA, Pa. (WHTM) -
Some things at a strip club will have to be left to the imagination. Dancers in Columbia, Lancaster County were denied the opportunity to dance totally nude by the borough's zoning board.
The unanimous 5-0 vote Wednesday struck down Club Good Times' request to let exotic dancers go fully nude. The board said the only lawful use of the property is to have the exotic dancers with at least some clothing on.
The steamy topic has been the talk of the town for weeks.
Dawn Kopp, 70, lives across the street from the club and didn't see a problem with the potential change.
"What's the difference between a G-string and nude?" Kopp asked.
But some say the naked truth of the matter is that the club on Union Street, which already offers scantily-clad dancers, is smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood.
"It's so offensive. It's a slap to every woman in this town, right in the face," neighbor Flora Eshleman said.
For some time now, people have been questioning how a gentleman's club could be allowed to operate at all in Columbia because there's an ordinance banning them. Turns out, when the ordinance was put in place, the club was already operating, so it was grandfathered in.
The club's general manager declined to comment following the meeting. However, she did tell abc27 News that she plans to contact her attorney and press the issue.
