Lynchburg - The Liberty Lady Flames clinched the Big South regular season title and number one seed in next week's tournament by routing Coastal Carolina 68-31 Thursday night in Lynchburg.
Senior Devon Brown led three Flames in double figures with 17 points, 15 of which came in the first half when Liberty built a 31-15 halftime lead. Brown played just 23 minutes as Head Coach Carey Green emptied his bench, every Flame had at least one rebound as Liberty outrebounded the Chanticleers 53-17. Jasmine Gardner and Katelyn Adams added 10 for the Flames who win their 10th straight game to improve to 23-and-6 on the season, 15-and-2 in the Big South heading into Saturday's regular season finale at home against Charleston Southern.
AJ Jordan was the only Chanticleer to hit double figures, she scored 10. Liberty has now beaten Coastal 40 straight times, the Chanticleers last win over the Flames came back in 1996.
