Student sold school property for scrap, police say

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) -

Lebanon police said they filed charges against a Lebanon Middle School student who stole about 500 pounds of weights from the school auditorium stage.

The 17-year-old allegedly sold the stage weights at a scrap yard for $500, police said.

He was charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said the teen was a member of the musical cast, and accessed the school during unauthorized times to take the weights.
