BRICKERVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A crash involving a horse trailer Friday morning closed part of Route 322 near Brickerville in Lancaster County.

State police said a pickup truck that was pulling the horse trailer left the eastbound lanes and struck two utility poles in Elizabeth Township at around 5:40 a.m.

The driver of the pickup, 71-year-old Boyd Hudson, of Marcus Hook, told police he drove to the right to make room for an oncoming tractor-trailer and the soft shoulder pulled the truck and trailer into the grassy area.

Hudson sustained minor injuries. Police said three horses in the trailer were also injured.

The downed utility poles knocked out power to hundreds of PPL customers in the Brickerville and Lititz area. Electricity was restored in about an hour.
