David Anuszewski
WEST YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police said they arrested a Maryland man who was extremely drunk and high on heroin after he chased a woman from her West York home and then challenged responding officers to a fight.
David Curtis Anuszewski, 30, of Baltimore, damaged a rear door to get into the home in the 1100 block of W. Poplar Street at around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, West York police said.
The woman who lived in the home fled through the front door and called for police, who found Anuszewski intoxicated, disheveled, and bleeding from cuts to his face, authorities said.
He refused orders to surrender, went into a fighting stance, and challenged the officers to shoot him, according to police, and continued to be combative and belligerent even after a stun gun was used to subdue him.
Anuszewski later admitted to using heroin and told investigators he went into the home to defend another person from a domestic attack, but the person he named did not live at the house, police said.
He was sent to York County Prison on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, loitering and prowling at night, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. His bail was set at $25,000.
