MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Mechanicsburg man has been arrested on charges he sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 during a seven-month period that began in July, according to police.

Upper Allen Township police said they charged 61-year-old Stanley E. Richwine with rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault,  corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor.

According to police, an investigation that began last month revealed Richwine had been engaging in sexual contact with the juvenile while he resided in Carlisle Borough and Upper Allen Township.

He was arrested Friday at his home in the 100 block of Wyncote Court, and committed to Cumberland County Prison on $500,000 bail, police said.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 11.
