Hershey robbery likely connected to 3 others

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) -

Investigators believe the man who robbed a store in the Hershey Outlets is the same person who has committed similar crimes in Dauphin and Lebanon counties.

The latest holdup occurred Friday evening at the Vitamin World store at 147 Outlet Square, where the robber handed a clerk a note demanding money from the cash register, according to Derry Township police.

He then ordered the woman to lie on the floor behind the counter and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

He was described as a white male with a thin build, 16-25 years old, with dark hair and dark eyes. He was said to be wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and a multi-colored article of clothing wrapped around the lower part of his face.

The suspect description is similar to that in an incident Thursday afternoon at the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in the Briarcrest Square Shopping Village, where a robber pointed a hammer at a store clerk as he demanded money from the register, police said.

The Merle Norman clerk was also ordered to get on the floor, and also described the robber as a 16- to 25-year-old thin, white male with dark hair, dark eyes, and having a multi-colored piece of clothing around the lower portion of his face, police said.

Police said they believe the same person may be responsible for robberies at the Hess Express in Campbelltown on Feb. 23 and the Weis Market in Palmyra on Feb. 25.

Anyone with information may call Derry Township police at (717) 534-2202.
