MANCHESTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating the theft of 48 newly-mounted tires from a Manchester Township business.

Northern York County Regional police said the tires and wheels were taken from a business in the first block of Winship Road, about two miles southwest of Manchester Borough, during the early hours of February 27.

Surveillance cameras at neighboring businesses showed that a rental truck entered the parking lot of an adjacent business at around 1:30 a.m. and left the lot at around 2:45 a.m., police said.

During that time, investigators said someone cut a hole in a fence to the tire storage area and removed the tires, which were rolled down an embankment to the rental truck.

The tires were all 22-inch truck tires that were used on tractor-trailers, and the total loss exceeds $15,000, police said.

Anyone with information may call the Northern York County Regional Police Department at (717) 292-3647.
