Passenger killed in Manheim Township crash

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 21-year-old East Petersburg man was injured and a passenger in his vehicle died in a two-vehicle trash early Sunday in Lancaster County.

Manheim Township police said Kian L. Kianzad collided head-on with a tractor-trailer on McGovernville Road, near Shreiner Station Road, just after 4 a.m.

The passenger in Kianzad's vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, but was not immediately identified.

Kianzad was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 37-year-old Harry E. Pinker, of Lancaster, was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone witnesses are asked to call Manheim Township police at (717) 569-6401.
