Driver charged after crash in police chase

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A hit-and-run driver was arrested after a police pursuit ended with a second crash in Lancaster, according to police.

Manheim Township police said an officer on Saturday night saw 22-year-old Dajuan L. Simms strike another vehicle in the 900 block of East Orange Street and then continue without stopping.

The officer attempted to stop Simms's Mitsubishi Galant, which fled from Lancaster Township into the city and eventually crashed in the 400 block of Mifflin Street, police said.

Simms was taken into custody and charged with fleeing and eluding, DUI, and accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, police said.
