HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Dauphin County Prison went into lockdown Tuesday afternoon after an inmate damaged a cell.

Prison spokeswoman Amy Richards Harinath said the lockdown began at 12:28 p.m. and will remain in effect until a thorough search of the prison has been conducted.

Visitation has been restricted until the lockdown is lifted, and inmates must remain in their cells.

Harinath said no injuries to inmates or employees were reported.
