Inside the Sunnyway Foods grocery store in Greencastle on Tuesday, it was winter weather that was on everybody's minds. The lines were long, and some shelves bare, as folks stocked up for the storm that is expected to hit early Wednesday morning.
Bonnie Byers said she is worried about driving in the winter weather, so was running errands ahead of time. "I'm kind of nervous because I am getting older and I just don't like driving in it," she said.
Other shoppers were just stopping by to get the essentials: bread, milk and eggs.
They weren't the only ones in Franklin County getting ready for the snowstorm. At the PennDOT maintenance building, crews were preparing plow trucks and checking stock plies of salt.
County Maintenance Manager Dave Rock said his crews are ready to hit the roads. "We've made sure we had all our materials stocked; we have 37 snow routes so those trucks are loaded," he explained. "We are definitely ready."
He said the warmer weather on Tuesday will be a big advantage in terms of keeping the roads clear. He also said crews would be pre-treating the roads.
