State police said someone tried to claim a South Middleton Township man's children to cheat on their taxes.
According to police, the man learned of the situation at the beginning of the month.
A financial adviser tells abc27 News this happens a lot more often than you might think.
"They are beating people to the punch with their children by filing first," Frank Kelly, owner of Kelly Financial Services said. "This is a huge problem nationwide."
Kelly recommends everyone keep a close eye on their family's important information.
