York police have filed homicide charges against a man suspected in a shooting death in the city last summer.
Jerome D. Dickson, 24, was charged Thursday in the killing of 48-year-old William L. "Micky" Baxter, police said.
Dickson had been considered a person of interest in the case since the shooting July 29 in the area of S. Pine Street and Liberty Court.
He was already in the York County Prison, where he is awaiting trial on charges of carjacking, simple assault and
intimidation of a witness, according to police.
He was also recently charged for his
participation in a February 2012 shootout in the 200 block of Harding Court.
In that case, he is charged with aggravated assault, a firearms violation, reckless endangerment, and criminal
mischief, police said.
