ENOLA, Pa. (WHTM) -

Tower Road Bridge over I-81 in Cumberland County will close for two months starting Monday, March 11.

Construction crews will close the two bridges that carry Tower Road over I-81 starting at around 7 a.m. on Monday. Tower Road, also known as State Route 1037, is in East Pennsboro Township.

Tower Road crosses I-81 in two places; one bridge covers the northbound lanes of the highway, and another bridge covers the southbound lanes. These bridges carry nearly 1,000 vehicles every day.

Drivers will be detoured around the closures via Valley Road (State Route 1004), 1st Street (State Route 1019), Miller Street and Belle Vista Drive.

The bridge preservation work will cost $517,131. It includes the replacement of metal bridge joints, deck repairs, a latex overlay and minor repairs. The construction will help extend the service life of each bridge.

The bridges will remain closed for approximately two months. The project should be completed by the end of May.
