Lynchburg, VA - A fundraiser was held Sunday at Phase 2 in Lynchburg for a four-year-old battling cancer.
Wesley Shafer was diagnosed back in October with Stage four Neuroblastoma.
Sunday's fundraiser will help the family pay for medical bills that insurance won't cover. The event featured live music, food and had items for sale that benefit Wesley's family.
Organizers of the event say they raised around $2,000 today. They say they're thankful for the community's support of the Shafer family.
"I just think it's awesome. There is a lot of love in the community, when there is a child involved I think a lot of people try to get together to help," said Tammy Rosenbaum, a friend of The Shafer Family.
If you would like to donate to help the Shafer's you can visit Central Virginia Federal Credit Union and just ask to donate to "Wesley's Hope".
