Customers and workers were evacuated from a Lancaster County grocery store during a small fire Monday morning.
The minor at the Weis Market in Willow Street was caused by a back-up hot water heater and started in an upstairs room at around 8 a.m., according to Weis spokesman Dennis Curtin.
Less than 30 people were in the store at the time, Curtin said. The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries.
Curtin said the store reopened at 10:30 a.m., but the deli remained closed pending an inspection.
He said the smoke caused by the fire went out a window and never entered the store.
