A New Holland man died when he crashed in an active construction zone along Route 23 in Leola early Sunday.
Cory Valentin Santiago, 25, was ejected from a Ford Probe that overturned after he struck two work vehicles at around 12:35 a.m., according to East Lampeter Township police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Santiago was traveling at high rate of speed as he approached the work zone controlled by traffic signs and flagmen.
He made no attempt to stop and passed traffic on the right side, while still traveling at a high rate of speed, just before he struck the work vehicles, police said.
No workers were injured.
Route 23 was closed for about four hours.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
