Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick said a pedestrian struck Saturday morning on Interstate 83 near Harrisburg died of multiple traumatic injuries, but the manner of death is pending the results of a toxicology test.
Hetrick on Monday identified the man as 27-year-old Ryan Joseph Kolesar.
Kolesar was walking along the southbound shoulder of I-83 when he ran into traffic near the 13th Street exit, according to investigators.
He was struck by a Chevrolet sedan and landed in the northbound lanes of the interstate, but was not struck by any other vehicles.
Police said the driver of the Chevrolet has been fully cooperative with the investigation.
