South Boston Town Council Will Choose Interim Mayor

South Boston, VA - The South Boston town council will meet tonight to vote for an interim mayor.

Councilman Coleman Speece says current Vice-Mayor Edward Owens is expected to step into the position.

The former mayor of South Boston, General Carroll Thackston passed away last month at the age of seventy-nine.

After tonight's vote, the interim mayor will serve in that role until the November election.
