Police who investigated a report that a man approached a Central Dauphin student at a school bus stop this morning said the incident was just a misunderstanding.
The school district had alerted parents to the incident in the area of Balthasar Street and Pine Street in Linglestown, where the man reportedly made small talk with the middle school student and then asked the boy to get into his delivery van.
Lower Paxton police said the driver of the van contacted them and explained that he is a neighbor of the child. He said he stopped because the child was standing in the rain and he wanted to help.
Police said the investigation has ended, and the child's father and other neighbors are satisfied that the incident was a misunderstanding.
