JONESTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

Following Tuesday morning's I-81 crash in Lebanon County, state police report that a "rubbernecking" driver struck the rear of a school bus.

The original accident occurred on I-81 at mile marker 87 near the81/78 split, according to police. The northbound lanes saw significant backlog as drivers slowed to view the crash clean-up.

At around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a 79-year-old driver failed to see that traffic had slowed in front of him, and he struck the rear of the school bus he was following. His vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

The bus, which was transporting students back home following a field trip to the Harrisburg area, sustained only minor damage.

One student complained of back pain following the incident and was transported to an area hospital.

Parents of the students were notified of the crash by school officials.
