Police: scam artist told man his brother was injured, in danger

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are warning residents about a scam in York County.

Officers said on Monday, a Springettsbury Township man received a call telling him his brother had just been hurt in an accident. The caller then threatened to shoot the brother if the resident didn't bring money, police said.

Police said if you receive a similar call, you should alert authorities.
